The Productivity Strategy

The Productivity Strategy

Gary Keller believes that focusing on ‘One Thing’ is the secret of success. If we focus on the ‘One Thing’ that matters most, everything else becomes more manageable.

How can you prioritise the ‘One Thing?”

The answer is to go small, breakdown big goals into more manageable tasks that will move the needle forward. Prioritise tasks that eliminate distraction and procrastination and prevents you from taking the necessary actions to achieve your goal.

After you have prioritised the ‘One thing’ you need a system to determine the most critical task you will execute before anything else. Without this system, you can quickly lose focus and Productivity because you haven’t taken the time to identify the most critical task for the day. The to-do-list does not have to feel overloaded anymore.

Focus on what matters most

We often heard we should not put all our eggs into one basket. Spread our investments to reduce the risks or multitask on several projects to get the job done quicker. Some people believe they can achieve success by spreading themselves thin, but this is a myth to think that this is the secret of winning because it can lead to burnout. For most, this approach needs to be a mindset change. You will gain more focus working on the small task that matters most.

Confidence to take focused actions

Once you have decided to work on the right task first, you have a 5-second window of opportunity to take action. Mel Robbins 5-second rule philosophy causes our brain to sprint into action when we count backwards from 5-1. Taking action is the missing link to the puzzle. Making the right move over a consistent amount of time will produce results.

What causes you to be less Productive?

If you are not taking steps on the small tasks, chances are you have a mental blockage preventing you from taking action. Remove the build-up of limiting beliefs over time and begin to see yourself becoming more productive at work, in your business, in your relationships and even your finances. Another step is that you do not have a system to prioritise the most critical tasks that allow everything else to be more comfortable.

How can you achieve Productivity?

Now that you know what causes you to be less productive, there are simple tools available for you to become more productive. Still, you need to have the right mindset to achieve higher productivity levels. Such strategies are that you can work with a coach, practice using a daily planner, prioritise your tasks, and most essentially block time for you to work on the ‘One Thing.’

Go out there and be productive to achieve success!
